Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu shined in Northern NJ last night, when Team Renzo Gracie Denville honored the hard work, talent and dedication of a number of teammates in an exciting belt promotion ceremony. Those recognized clearly demonstrate why Team Renzo Gracie Denville boasts some of the strongest up and coming Brazilian Jiu Jitsu talent in New Jersey. The event was attended by students of all ages, who enjoyed a two hour open mat followed by the belt promotion ceremony.

Ten team members achieved their Blue Belt: Ashlii Kovacs, Lizzy Buska, Jennifer Drake, Vincent Bruzzese, Ryan Smith, Chris Fancher, Mike V, Sean Michelson, Semi Hajrulla, and Matt Beattie.  When presenting the belts to the team members, Team Renzo Gracie Chief Instructor and Renzo Gracie Black Belt, George Sernack, spoke about each individual and the unique qualities each person brings to the team. What all team members hold in common, though, is their drive to learn, strong, positive sportsmanship and a true passion for training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Two teams members, Brian Talley and Brian Carroll, were promoted to rank of Purple Belt. Both individuals demonstrate the technical skill and sportsmanship that makes them team leaders deserving of this honor. They train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in an inspired, dedicated fashion that sets the bar for the rest of the team.
