120 Tires Reported Stolen From Hopatcong Business

Police say items worth $9,000 were taken sometime on Saturday or Sunday.

Approximately 120 tires worth $9,000 were stolen from Lakeside Tire

The owner of the business, who said he left work at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, returned on Monday to find the trailer that stores new tires was broken into, police said.

Police said the trailer is located at the end of the building closest to the woods, and that they believe the burglary would have taken time to load all of the tires into a vehicle big enough to hold them all. They are asking anyone who may have driven by and witnessed a vehicle back up to the trailer, or who has any other information, to contact the department at 973-398-5000.

I have to agree, they must have used some type of box truck, acted as if they were just making a delivery or something not to draw any attention to themselves. But as one person commented times are tough people are doing what ever it take to make some quick cash.when I was doing public safety in a private community people were constantly breaking into foreclosed homes and ripping out all the copper plumbing and wire thus toatally destrying the posibility of re-selling it.In the long run I think its only going to get worse.
