5 Things to Know This Week

Keeping up with Hopatcong.

  1. You Need to Know About Political Gatherings: Hopatcong's Democratic Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Hopatcong Senior Citizens Center while the Republican Club will meet at the same time at the Ridgewood.
  2. You Need to Know About the Pound Fundraiser: For $15, enjoy wine and food samplings from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Pavinci's. Procceeds will benefit the Hopatcong Pound Project. Call 973-479-3659 for more information.
  3. You Need to Know About the Community Garden meeting: Recently, the borough put out a list of who's tentatively scheduled to attend the Hopatcong farmer's markets this summer. Organizers and members will meet 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the municipal building for more talk on the garden, which broke ground last week.
  4. You Need to Know About Free Electronic Recycling: That's right—free. Bring electronics to the recycling center on Wednesday or Saturday and get rid of them.
  5. You Need to Know About the Recreation Commission: Which will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the municipal building. The commission recently released its "wish list" for fixes to Hopatcong's fields.
About this column: You could leave home each day without knowing the five most important things happening in the Hopatcong, but Hopatcong Patch wouldn't recommend it. Related Topics: 5 things
