Alleged Trespasser Sought by Hopatcong Police

Brooklyn Stanhope Road house broken into while homeowner was away, cops report.

Hopatcong Police are looking for someone who allegedly broke into an unoccupied Brooklyn Stanhope Road house this winter, Lt. Thomas Kmetz said.

The homeowner moved out of the residence and left it vacant for several months, Kmetz said. When he returned to winterize the building, he found the rear basement door was kicked in, Kmetz said.

The home’s condition was left in “disarray,” Kmetz said, and it was not yet determined if any goods were stolen.

Hopatcong Police are asking anyone with information to contact Det. Luciani at 973-398-5000.
