High School Showers to Open for Those Without Electricity

Morning and evening hours available. Bring your own supplies.

Hopatcong Police Chief John Swanson said the high school's locker rooms will be open to residents without electricity.

As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jersey Central Power & Light said 1,337 Hopatcong customers were without power.

Community Emergency Response Team personnel will be on hand to provide assistance and directions to the locker areas. Residents must bring their own bathroom supplies, however.

Swanson said residents should enter the school near the new gymnasium's handicap-accessible rear entrance.

The following schedule has been coordinated to avoid conflicts with students and sporting practices.

Tuesday, Aug. 30  6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  No evening hours
Wednesday, Aug. 31  5 a.m. to 8 a.m.  6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 1 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. No evening hours
Friday, Sept. 2 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 3 Noon to 3 p.m. No evening hours
