The Hopatcong fire department is hosting a comedy show on Saturday at Defiance Engine Company No. 3. Doors open at 6, but the laughs won't start until 8 p.m. There's a buffet dinner included in the $30 charge.

Why Go: All proceeds will go to the Hopatcong Pound Project, which hopes to renovate the borough's animal shelter.

Self-Defense Class
Where/When: At St. Jude's Parish in Hopatcong on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: To learn to protect ya neck, like the Wu-Tang Clan said.

Veterans Day Ceremony
Where/When: At Veterans Park in Hopatcong on Friday at 11 a.m.
Why Go: To salute America's heros.
Cost: Free.
Rosary Society Dance
Where/When: At St. Jude's Parish in Hopatcong on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: To get your groove on and have some family fun in the borough.

Lake Hopatcong Museum Open
Where/When: At Hopatcong State Park in Landing on Sunday at noon.
Why Go: To reflect on the lake's glory days.

Blue Hens Sing at St. Peter's
When/Where: 7 p.m., Friday, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Morristown
Why Go: You dig choral music.

All-Abilities Run from The Running Company

Why Go: You want to get out there before it gets too cold, and you'd like to run with a group.

When/Where: 1 p.m., Saturday, at Morristown High School
Why Go: You want to cheer on the Colonials one last time this year.
