Perfect example of someone who deserves "the needle"

Alyssa was new to her company and was assigned to my company for support. My company was a tough tough client for her outfit. My first thought was why and how could they assign this green kid to our support team? Well she was young and green and learning her craft, but she was also bright, personable, enthusiastic and energetic. Quickly she was assiting with complicated Accounting and payroll issues. She showed tremendous potential and promise. Being a close in age to my youngest daughter we shared the usual stories about Sussex County, Route 15 and 80 commuter issues, I tell you, this young lady was on her way to a successful career.
Then unfortunately this Tedesco piece of garbage took it all away. Tedesco had nothing and was nothing and was always going to be nothing. His one credible job, he wound up milking the system on a trumped up disability at 27. It is no wonder he was rebuffed by Alyssa. She saw what he was; she was good, he was bad.

He needs to rot in prison.

You are right, doors 43, Joe was raised by very wonderful, caring, giving parents. There are two grieving families here. I think some of these "additional judge and jurers" on here need to come to that realization. My heart goes out to both families and prayers that healing will now begin.

Tedesco is 27 year old adult responsible for his own actions. Questions about his parents or how he was raised are a moot point. He had every opportunity to become his own person - and apparently he did. Nor is he a reflection on Hopatcong. The jury did right by him and hopefully the judge will do the same by imposing the maximum penalty on him for this plus the additional crimes he has racked up.

While they may be nice people and I'm sure they raised him with the best of intentions it would seem to me that they also had something to do with him being a spoiled, egotistical, self centered jerk. He was very obviously never taught to have any respect for women at all (not liking being told no by Alyssa and not liking having to play by the Prosecutor's rules). I'm thinking his mother probably never stood up to him and was probably still doing his laundry, making his bed, and asking HIM what she should make for dinner.

yes, he did make a mistake but he cared for her. i have known his father my entire life and i have met Joe himself a few times. He does not deserve the maximum sentence. and what these news updates dont tell you is that he maintained his story from the beginning and she shot him first. he called the police as soon as he got to the hospital. these news updates fabricate so many things.

Even if that were the case, which its not, no one would have been shot had he just not brought a gun to her house. Or not went to the house at all since she repeatedly told him she did not like him like him and did not want to hang out with him. He shot her 6 times. I understand that people dont want to believe that someone they know can do such a brutal crime but it happened and the evidence states what happened. It seems totally ridiculous to me that people that know him are so quick to believe everything that comes out of his mouth and believe that everything the police and court and media says is a lie. It just very naive. No wants to believe that someone they love is capable of this but everyone needs to understand that when you take someones life you need to be punished for that crime. And people need to think how they would feel if their daughter was shot 6 times by a boy that wouldnt take no for an answer and what justice they would want for their daughter. Life in prison is a gift considering he gets to live unlike Alyssa. One or two gun shots going off accidently would be a little more understanding but 6 is just way too much.

J-Are you serious? Did you see his testimony? He is a rude, arrogant, LIAR. He has no respect for authority or women. He's a hothead who can't deal with not having things his way. He called the police as soon as he got to the hospital--wow, what a nice guy, in my estimation, that was probably about an hour after the first shot entered her body. He maintained his story from the beginning. I say he maintained his story from the moment he made it up, remember, he had quite a bit to do so in between the time it happened until he so graciously called the police at his leisure. He had a gun shot wound to his hand-painful I'm sure but if it happened as he said why didn't he leave the house and go right to the police station? Or is the story going to change to accommodate that? She held him at gunpoint and wouldn't let him leave? Why fight over the gun, the police would get his gun back for him and she would have been properly charged. You say the media is fabricating things, well, a jury of his peers, and plenty of other people believe HE is fabricating things. The sad fact is we will never know one truth, Alyssa's-she is gone, with 6 "self inflicted/self defense" gunshot wounds. He deserves the maximum PLUS whatever else they can through at him.
