other summons consisted of giving a person a summons because they WORE their seatbelt and they couldn't get you on that. My neighbors kid got it because he didn't have his lights on when his wipers were on...the kid counted 21 cars going by with no lights on while he was getting the ticket..... its such BS-- just a way to make money .....ridiculous

Hopefully your kid learned his lesson. Regardless of how many other people were doing it, it's a safety hazard. He should take some responsibility.

First it wasn't my kid,, but a safety hazard in the day....I beg to differ....besides have you ever heard of a warning!!! This town is out to make more cash off the backs of its residents and this petty bs....they only gave it to him because 1 he was a kid and 2 they couldn't get him on the seatbelt law because he wears his....

Regardless whose kid it was...it's the law. Since he's a kid those laws should be fresh in his head from taking a driving test.
Next time it rains really bad, take a drive on route 80 and try to pass lanes. See how much fun it is because morons forgot to put their lights on creating a, say it with me...SAFETY HAZARD.

River Styx needs speed limit monitors - Cops dont patrol this road for speeders, it has become a raceway from hopatchung to the bridge - kids are all over this road, they will realize one day when somebody gets killed

How about cell phone users when driving, or is that in the 109 “other summons”? If a driver doesn’t wear a seatbelt he is in danger, if he is talking on the phone, he is endangering many others.

The "other summons" were cell phone use. Contrary to what everyone thinks, the town doesn't get the money for the tickets, it's going to the state.....

It is my understanding that the money only goes to the state if someone breaks a state law. If it is an ordinance violation the money goes to the town. Maybe you could comment on that?

@ the WATCHER - That is correct, They are ALL State Laws on the roadway, money always goes to the state. Town ordinances, loud noise, no helmet in skate park.....go to the town.

so where does this money go to? O let me guess. Personal benefits for the TOWN, and ones emplyed by the town. not its residents. actually our residents are the ones paying the price. The click or ticket campaign is a scam along with every other campaign the state tries to say will help or benefit our community. it gives cops a reason to harass more people then usual and im sure cops can care less about you or me. they just want your money they just want to write a ticket to feel better about themselves to feel better about there job so that they feel acomplished. What does this money ever go to anyway?
