Welcome, Sparta, to the Patch Family!
Now Sussex County has two towns that can share what's important to them.
Notice anything different? We hope so—and we hope you’re as excited about it as we are. As of today, we are expanding our coverage area to include Sparta!
Since its launch in July of 2010, Hopatcong Patch has strived to provide the most complete view of the borough as possible. The site gives residents a platform to provide their own happenings and ideas through its Local Voices, events and announcements platforms, while Patch covers the most important important news in schools, government, police and fire, and more.
But until now, the town has stood alone as the only reflection of Sussex County in the Patch family.
Now, the northern-most county in the state will have its second town covered. More importantly, it will offer its residents the ability to communicate with each other through the site’s platforms.
Have an event coming up? You can post it right to our calendar.
Did someone win an award? Is someone engaged? There’s a place for that in our announcements.
Are you part of a group? A coach of a youth or high school sports team? Local Voices offers a place to show the community what’s happening through photos and your own words.
And while you're using the site for the things that matter most to you, the important issues and stories in another town in Sussex County will now be covered on Patch.
A big welcome to Sparta Township! We hope you enjoy becoming a part of the Patch family.

Add Sparta to Hopatcongs page that's smart they don't even interact with hopatcong. A byram or Stanhope I could see but Sparta. Bring back Kuty!

I agree, Daniel. Hopatcong & Sparta don't even interact, and each doesn't need (or probably even care) to see the other's news. What's up with this?? Is Patch that short-handed on editors? Hopatcong & Sparta go together like peanut butter & hot sauce; each is just too different from the other.

I agree Daniel. I miss Kuty... Why they grouped us with Sparta, I'll never know... I miss Kuty's coverage of our town. If a helicopter flew overhead I would know within 5 mins (if that) where the helicopter was going or coming from. I miss his school coverage, too. He used to post tons of pictures of various town functions. Why doesn't Sparta have it's own Patch?

Totally agree why Sparta? Even when something happened in Landing that would affect us Kuty was there. Don't think he ever slept.

I almost thought Hopatcong finally came to their senses and sold the town to Sparta - Time to revitalize Hopatcong - Wheres the new business plan for new business the mayor has been yappin about and council members attracting new business. Lower River Styx still looks like a dead zone as does most of Lakeside Blvd as you enter the town - I love the view of abandoned tractor trailers and sidewalks that are never maintained along lakeside Blvd - Pathetic

What a dumb idea! The Patch news coverage for Hopatcong has gone downhill since the new editor took over, and now this? I agree with Lilacs and Daniel, bring back Kuty!

Join the crowd, so do a lot of other peoples ever since you know who started posting nasty comments under several different names.

Why Sparta? The more I have to hunt and peck which articles to read, the fewer times I will be on Patch.

Each town having their own Patch is a great idea!
