If you don't attend the Aug 15th's Town Meeting and raise hell about them getting their sticky fingers on emergency fund money to construct a new gimmick to raise your taxes than FORGEDABADIT! You'll brown bagging your baloney sandwich.

Michelle not every article on Patch is meant to be your political soap box. Please keep it in the proper forum. I may agree with some of your comments but you're loosing your audience and credibility.

Michele, I will be there and if given the chance to speak, will certainly offer equal parts disdain and suggestions

Michael - I agree with you - really I do. I tried to write a Blog about the issue I presented at the Town Meeting. Wanted to include the Hopatocong's Tax Reduction Table of the Largest Land Holders that I gave to the Town Officials in the last Town Meeting. Patch told me I could not attach a third party document (a municipal document) and that I that I needed to get the explantion to my question from' the Town's Tax assessor. Atorney Ursin and the Town Officials could not explain the Tax Deductible numbers Hopatcong submitted as municipal bond auction info and told me I need to talk to the Tax Assessor. Randy Paulenrich asked the Tax Accessor and she said she did not create this table she answered him via email and Randy was kind enough to forward her email response. So the question and table will never be viewed by the taxpaying Public So I am stealing posts to get my message across around this obstacle course of communication road blocks. Maybe not an honorable method of free speech but the only one I have available and I feel like such a Yankee doing this against the against the powers that be. Plus I only have 5 minutes to present this information at Town meetings that is poorly attended. If no one bothers to show up to this important meeting it will not be because no one told them.

Rita - I agree with you this is a very well managed store. They even have a few fresh produce items too. One day I was short on salad items and did not feel like driving far or waiting in line at a big grocery store. This place is also very clean and is run very efficiently too. They have been in Hopatcong as far back as I can remember. So this was a big omission.

Yes look to the left, I remember going in there around Christmas and a group were having a party in there. It looked like they were having a good time.

Are you kidding me? Sabretti's is the absolute best for lunch. I drive all the way from Mount Sinai, New York just to have their Pulled-Pork hero.
