On Saturday, April 28 2012 the F.A.C.T Foundation for Diabetes held its First Annual Bench Lifting Competition at Morris Hills High School in Rockaway.
The Bench Lifting Competition raised $1,223. The money will go directly towards the F.A.C.T Foundation and their mission in finding a cure for Type-1 and Type-2 Diabetes while helping local diabetics pay for their medical supplies.
“I can not express the amount of gratitude I have for all who came to participate and show their support,” says Founder of the F.A.C.T Foundation for Diabetes William Sisca. “My deepest appreciation goes out to everyone and a special thanks to all of our sponsors and those who donated items to make this an unforgettable event.”
21 individuals competed in the Bench Lifting Competition ranging from high school aged participants to longstanding professional weightlifters.

Over 75 spectators were present including Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Flyweight Cage Fury Fighting Champion Sean “Shorty Rock” Santella, UFC Fighter Danny Miller and Lightweight Cage Fury Fighting Champion Mike Medrano.
