Sell some of those "project cars and boats" and you might be able to pay your sewerRead Morebills! Nobody needs that many "parts" cars and boats! The town looks like an extended junk car/boat lot!

Look back at the past and you will see why we pay this rate: Federal Grants were available in theRead Morepa st. The people of Hopatcong voted sewers down several times in the past. Bad decision??? This towns people not the mayor or its boards are the enemy, We the people of Hopatcong keep shooting ourselves in the foot, them we look for someone to blame for pulling the trigger. Also the state was mandating cleaner water into the lake. We in Hopatcong voted down building a Swimming pool at the High School...We would have a Pool for a Swim Team, Diver training, Rescue work, Life guard Training, Senior exercise, and rehabilitation. It would have been used nearly 24/7 and generated money for the town if managed properly. But we voted NO!! Lets look at all the issues we have in town and stop pointing fingers!! Lets start to help the towns elected officials in doing their job, you get more flies with sugar than vinegar!!!

This town is a lot better than many other towns in our area, what we lack is business, BigRead MoreBusiness, Small Business, Manufacturing, Electronics Factories, and Mom and Pop endeavors. We should look at developing the Sparta Stanhope Road corridor into a dedicated business zone. Industry in this area would have little effect on the home's in the area and would generate needed tax dollars!! It would also have little impact on the town of Hopatcong as far as additional traffic and wear and tear on our roads.

Can't do anything till the benzene situation is investigated and then possibly cleaned up...Read Morehttp:// www.hopatcong.org/Minutes/min120711.pdf ... that was December 2011..."Louise Bagby asked Councilman Francis about the Benzene plume that is on the River Styx. Last time she asked he told her that we were waiting to hear from the State about what to do about it. Councilman Francis stated that we will apply again this year, to the federal government, for funds to assess the situation. The first grant was denied. We have done it twice already. He stated that he does not give up easily. The State has money for cleanup but we don’t even know if we have anything that needs to be cleaned up". I guess there will be more "planning".
