Great Food!

I love the charm of this place. I wished my husband had a love for Tai food. It is the only thingRead Moret hat keeps me from visiting the cafe more often. The LHF has done so much to promote a wonderful image of Lake Hopatcong and all its quaint and charming businesses that appeal to the Lake Community's unique lifestyle of living by a gorgeous lake, surrounded by lush trees and a mountainous terrain.

Clay you are also correct too. There is a group of people that take no pride and have no sense ofRead Moreo wnership. I think that is the key, having a sense of ownership and responsibility. We are drifting into a mindless society where no one can think on their own if there isn't an app on their mobile phone for it. Although, I find the people of Hopatcong for the most part our far more caring of their neighbors. I think the 14 day blackout of storm Sandy showed this. The garbage issue comes down to poor management of our borough's officials not enforcing any rules. There are some people that have to be threatened with a fine in order for them to take action. Our elected officials have loftier political party aspirations than they do visions on how to improve Hopatcong for the people who live here. But this is true of all politicians today all the way up to the president. No one wants to take out the garbage.

People need to band together and take action instead of just talking about it on the Patch. ThingsRead Moren eed to change. And they are just going further downhill the longer people put up with high property taxes to live in a rundown town.

There used to be a joke about being able to see all the blue tarps in Hopatcong from space usingRead MoreGoo gle Earth! At least a couple of years ago, as ugly as the blue tarp epidemic was, it covered the trash. Now nobody cares and the garbage, junk cars and boats, and old appliances litter the town!
