 y since he&nbsp\;suffered a severe spinal cord injury&nbsp\;during Hurri
 cane Sandy. A tree fell on the vehicle he was in at Fire Company 5\, pin
 ning him inside. It took emergency workers an hour to extract him from t
 he vehicle.\nFranco was in surgery for six hours after the accident and 
 kept immobilized for sometime thereafter.\nFranco is now&nbsp\;walking a
  little bit&nbsp\;and has regained some motion in his shoulders and arms
 .\nLocal businesses\, organizations\, and individuals have designed a se
 ries of charitable activities to help Franco and his family.\nWayne UNIC
 O&nbsp\;is selling poinsettias&nbsp\;until Dec. 7 and donating a portion
  of the proceeds.\nFairway Market donated a percentage of sales Nov. 15 
 to Franco and his family. The Wayne PBA Local 136 has&nbsp\;set up a don
 ation account online through PayPal.\nTwo Wayne residents&nbsp\;ran a ma
 rathon&nbsp\;to raise money for Franco. They were slated to run in the N
 ew York City marathon but since it was cancelled\, they decided to run a
  marathon around Packanack Lake to raise money for Franco and his family
 .
