CERT Team Prepares for Craft Show, Community Garden Group Readies for Autumn

Here's what you need to know for Thursday.

• A busy day is on tap for the Hopatcong Senior Center at 32 Lakeside Blvd.: A Senior Social is scheduled for the afternoon. Starting at 1:30 p.m., guests will enjoy coffee and refreshments. Later in the day, the borough's Citizens Emergency Response Team meets on the center's upper level for its regular gathering at 7 p.m. It's expected the group will deal with last minute work in preparation for its Flea Market and Craft Show taking place across from the Post Office at the park and ride Saturday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Meanwhile, at the same time, people involved with the Community Garden will meet on the lower level of the senior center. 
• The Sparta Community Dispute Resolution Committee is a municipal body that deals with mediating minor disputes so that they can be resolved without having to go to court. The committee meets Thursday at 7 p.m. at Sparta Town Hall, 65 Main St.
• Keeping It Clean: In Hopatcong, sanitation crews will follow Garbage Pickup Schedule C. No recycling pickup is listed on the calendar. In Sparta, check with the online schedule.
