Also, Aerosmith on the silver screen, training for the Sparta Library 3D printer and the daily sanitation pickup schedules.

Here's what you need to know for Tuesday.

  • Tuesday is Election Day! Voters will go to the polls to elect a governor, state legislators, county officials and school board members. There are also two important ballot questions that will be decided by citizens. People died for your right to vote, so do your duty as a citizen: Get informed and use your voice at the ballot box. What you need to know Tuesday's general election can be found here. Polls are open Tuesday from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. And be sure to keep an eye on Patch after the polls close for results.
  • Have municipal business in Hopatcong? It will have to wait until Wednesday. Hopatcong Borough offices will be closed Tuesday for Election Day.
  • The Stanhope MOMS Club, a support group for stay-at-home mothers, meets for its first Tuesday of the month gathering. For information on location, time and more, get in touch with the group directly via email: momsx24.7@gmail.com.
  •  Ah, the wonders of technology. Techies are marveling at the appearance of the 3D computer printer, which allows people to reproduce three-dimensional items that can lead to them running their own businesses, creating models for art projects or scientific research and more. The Sparta Township Public Library has one of these amazing machines and will make it available to library users—but only if they are trained to use it properly. To that end, the Sparta Library offers a 3D Printer Training Tuesday from 3-4:30 p.m. As you can imagine, spots are filling up fast. If registration is full when you register, there will be another training Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. For information, call the library at 973-729-3101. You can find the Sparta Library at 22 Woodport Road.
  • We were alarmed seeing Santa side by side with skeletons in department stores prior to Halloween, but have become resigned to it: the Christmas season is here. For more proof: The First Presbyterian Church of Sparta presents a preview of musical and dramatic selections from its forthcoming production of "The Christmas Carol" at the Louise Childs branch of the Sussex County Library System. This free program, which begins at 7 p.m., is recommended for children in grades four and older. Space is limited (24 openings at press time), so register fast. The library is at 21 Sparta Road in Stanhope. For info, call 973-770-1000.
  • Looking to rock it up for Election Night? The Sparta Theater presents a screening of the legendary Boston band Aerosmith's concert film event, "Aerosmith: Rock for the Rising Sun." The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. at 25 Centre St. in Sparta. Tickets are $12.50. For info, call the theater at 973-729-2804.
  • Keeping It Clean: In Hopatcong, sanitation crews will follow Garbage Pickup Schedule A and Recycling Pickup Schedule D. In Sparta, check with the online schedule.
