Making Bracelets at Louise Childs, Wrestling Tryouts, Sparta's Morning Court Hours

Your daily planner for Hopatcong and Sparta includes a meeting for the Sparta Environmental Commission and sanitation pickup instructions for the day.

Here's what you need to know for Thursday.

  • Get your tween involved in a productive activity after school. The Louise Childs Branch of the Sussex County Library System  presents Twistz Bandz Bracelet Fun Thursday afternoon. Kids in grades 4-8 are invited to drop by the branch any time between3:30-4:30 p.m. to make a Twistz Bandz bracelet. If you know how to make one of these colorful wrist adornments? They'd love to have you. Don't know how? Ditto; they're happy t teach people how to make these Twistz Bandz bracelets. The cost is free, and supplies are provided. And no registration is necessary, just drop by. The Louise Childs Library is at 21 Sparta Road in Stanhope.
  • Hopatcong Youth Wrestling continues its Open House and Registration Thursday at Hopatcong High School. Boys and girls from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to come out and show their stuff. Tryouts run from 6-7:30 p.m. in the auxiliary gymnasium.  The school is located at 2 Windsor Road.
  • Sparta's Environmental Commission meets for its regular monthly gathering Thursday at the Municipal Building at 65 Main St.
  • That address works also for the township's judicial center: Sparta Municipal Court Morning Hours is in session Thursday beginning at 9 a.m.
  • Keeping It Clean: In Hopatcong, sanitation crews will follow Garbage Pickup Schedule C;  no recycling pickup is indicated on the calendar. In Sparta, check with the online schedule.
