• Get out those hankies, Mom and Dad: It's time for the first Middle School dance of the year. The Hopatcong Middle School Parent Teacher Organization hosts a Welcome Back Dance for the kids Friday from 7-9 p.m. Get answers to all the questions you have by calling HMS at 973-398-8804.
• Residents wondering whether they should put refuse on the curb should take note of the daily pickup schedule: For Friday, the borough follows garbage schedule D and recycle schedule A. And for everyone, don't forget that Hopatcong's recycling center will be open Saturday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
