Pop-Rock Double Bill in Stanhope, New Freshman Orientation in Hopatcong

Here's what you need to know for Thursday.

• Have you ever wanted to make your own jigsaw puzzle? Let your kid have fun with this creative exercise at Sparta Public Library. Puzzlemania lets children ages 4 and up drop in anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. with a parent or caretaker to learn to create their own puzzles. It's free, and registration is not required. • This year's Hopatcong Middle School eighth grade class will be next year's high school freshmen. Planning is already underway to make sure students and parents are ready for the change. The middle school will hold a high school orientation for eighth graders Thursday during the school day. And at 7 p.m., eighth grade moms, dads and guardians are invited to the Hopatcong High School auditorium for an orientation session for new high school parents. 
  
• Get your weekend started early with a great double bill at the Stanhope House. This Century featuring Nick Santino and opening act The Northern take the stage at the venue Thursday night. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased online. Showtime is at 6 p.m. 
• Keeping It Clean: In Hopatcong, sanitation crews will follow Garbage Pickup Schedule C;  no recycling pickup is indicated on the calendar. In Sparta, check with the online schedule.
