Sparta Storm Waste Drop-Off, Hopatcong School Happenings

The day planner for the borough and the township.

Here's what you need to know for Tuesday in Hopatcong and Sparta.

  • In light of the heavy wind and rain last Thursday, the Sparta Public Works Complex at 15 Prices Lane will have a storm waste drop-off area open daily for this week only. Residents and independent contractors hired by residents may drop off brush and storm debris weekdays, 7 a.m.-3 p.m., through Saturday. No stumps; leaves, bagged or otherwise; vines; grass clippings or building materials are permitted at the DPW complex.
  • Durban Avenue School in Hopatcong holds its Grade 5 Back to School Night at 7 p.m. to give parents an opportunity to meet their children's teachers and learn what the students will learn in the next year.
  • At Hopatcong High School, the Booster Club meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. to prepare for fall fundraisers for athletic teams and start to build school spirit among the community.
  • There is one governmental meeting Tuesday: The Land Use Committee gathers at Hopatcong Borough Hall at 7:30 p.m.
