Hopatcong Halloween Parade

What a beautiful day for a parade!  Since 1994 the Hopatcong Business League has sponsored the annual Halloween Parade.  The parade started at the Maxim Hudson School and ended at Modick Park.  The Hopatcong Business League had 500 candy bags ready for all the children that marched in the parade or came to the park.  Along with the candy bags the Business League had 800 hot dogs, 500 Gatorade and 300 bottles of water ready for all the ghost and goblins after a long hard march down River Styx Road.  I spoke to Bob Winegard president of the Hopatcong Business League and he said that this event is all about the children of Hopatcong and that the local business donates the food, beverages and goody bags. The business owners donate their time working the booths at Modick Park.  Bob said, “ This is all about bringing together the local business with the residence of Hopatcong.  The recreation department and the town of Hopatcong supply the fun rides for the children.  There was a wonderful turnout and some really fun costume.  I can tell you the children all had ear-to-ear grins!   The Priest family came as the Incredible and looked amazing.  Brianna was dressed as Johnny Depps Barnabas and Bobby was dressed as the boy wonder Robin.  Lucas and his Mom came as astraunauts.  There were mummies, princess, and super hero’s to name a few of the costumes.
