Sparta Middle School to Perform Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID JR.

Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID JR. will be presented by young actors from Sparta Middle school at the Sparta High School Auditorium on April 10th, 11th, and 12th at 7 pm and on April 12th at 2 pm. The 60-minute musical, designed specifically for middle-school aged performers, is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The cast contains a variety of performers from all grade levels, with approximately 40 students led by director and producer, Victoria Reed.

The musical has helped expand upon a growing performing arts community in the Middle School. The presence of a musical theatre program has provided an amazing opportunity for first-time performers looking to take part in an exciting and fun experience. The program is in its third year, and has taught participants public speaking, confidence, a sense of community, patience, and numerous other skills. Mrs. Reed, who believes in a fair and constructive learning environment for performers, has double-casted the show in order to give this talented group of youngsters maximum performance opportunities.
