Twist on Thai Cafe

I would like to start with the positives. Hopatcong has a new Thai restaurant and the food is very good.  I went last night with two of my nieces, we all ordered different items.  For starters we had the crispy spring rolls, Chicken puffs and the Satay Chicken ( and I still wish we had ordered the dumplings also!).  The appetizers came out delicious.  Crispy, hot not greasy, the chicken Satay was perfect.  On to the entrées I had the Pad Kee Maow  with a touch of heat, Jessica had the Pad Cashew medium heat,  and Kelly had the Pad See Ew no heat.  Everything came out very good, now comes the critiques.  Only two suggestions on the entrees .  We all thought the entrees could use more sauce on them.  If you like to see the sauce on the plate make sure to ask for extra.  I think they are holding back on the heat of the spices until they learn the clientele.  So if you like it spicy hot let them know so they will amp it up for you.    For now, are you going to wait a little bit (or longer) for service and food?  Yes, but that is because most of Hopatcong is hitting the door and the phone at the peak hour of 6:00 forward.  Ploy is doing a great job, but is going to need some help with the register and phone.  Be patient the food is worth the wait and if you can go to dinner early all the better, we got there a little after 5:00 and there was only one other table.

To Ploy, Ken and the rest of your family, for a first night you kept it together.  At 6:30 with a packed dining room, a wall of people for take-out and the phone ringing of the hook, I would have been in the corner on the floor crying!  It will not be long before this family gets it’s rhythm in sync for a quicker turn around.  I already have 4 items to try next time in.  I am guessing a Saturday lunch with my sisters and a nice bottle of Riesling.
