A Huge Fish ... and a Few Hundred Bucks

Borough man wins Lake Hopatcong trout-fishing contest.

The weather didn't remind anybody of summer. But Sunday couldn't have been much better for Dom Sarinelli of Hopatcong.

Sarinelli won the Harold Mabee Memorial Trout Contest at Lake Hopatcong, reeling in a 3-pound, 11-ouncer for $504. The Knee Deep Club sponsored the event, which honored a fallen longtime member.

Mabee's family also awarded Sarinelli an additional $100. Club members Tim Clancy and Mike Truglio  gave the top-three finishers, which included Totowa's Al Yannarelli (3-pound, 10-ounce rainbow trout; $303) and Oak Ridge's Gary Bruzaud (1-pound, 5-ounce brown trout; $202), rod and reel combos.
