Brothers From Sparta Troop Attain Eagle Scout Rank

Stephen and Christopher Rozek honored for their achievements.

An Eagle Scout Court of Honor last week recognized two brothers from Troop 150 of Sparta.

The Rozek brothers, Stephen, 13, and Christopher, 16, were honored on April 6 at the Barn in Hillside Park in Andover for recently attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

The ceremony, attended by family, friends, scouts and community leaders, included presentations from Sussex County Freeholder Dennis Mudrick, Sparta Mayor Molly Whilesmith, Andover Mayor Phil Boyce, Order of the Arrow Lodge No. 43 Adviser Chris Sturm, Sparta VFW Representative Martin Schweighardt and Deb Reidmiller, of the Lakeland Emergency Squad. 

The brothers attained Eagle Scout rank within three days of each other. Stephen became an Eagle on Dec. 3, 2013 and led a project benefiting Sparta Township, while Christopher became an Eagle on Dec. 6, 2013 and led a project for Andover Township.
