Weekly Prayer Gathering at West Side United Methodist Church at 8:00am.

I was listening to a CD on Prophesy this morning and I stumbled upon the calendar on the Hopatcong Patch. I saw that there was a Prayer Meeting at West Side today at 8am. For reasons I can't explain I was lead to go.. When I got there moments before 8am. I ran the bell several times, than I began to knock on the door, than I ran the bell again and again and finally after nearly 10 minutes a young woman answered the door only to tell me that she was not with the church and the no one (including the Pastor) was there. No one there at the scheduled time posted on the Patch, Really... She apologized and I left... What a disappointment. Tom Young, DOCF http://dontgotochurch.net/ Hopatcong, NJ

Not a disapointment to me! A lot of people are finally coming to thier senses! There is not a single shred of evidence that prayer has any effect on the human condition. There is a place in France called "Lourds" where a spiritual sighting supposedly happened back in the 19th century Ten Millions people have passed through there since the "Sighting" yet there have only been 75 Christian recognised cures for certain diseases.(they are more likely to get sick by wading in the same contaminated water than they are to be cured of anything) NO ! not a single report that someone grew a new arm where one was blown off, nor have there been any eyes grown where there were none. NO ! The diseases that were supposedly cured may well have gotten better just on thier own.One woman who was interviewed on "The Science channel" and supposedly cured of cancer was also undergoing Chemo-therapy, but attributes her improving health to her visit to Lourds--- Go Figure. If you think that prayer is effective --- Well I think that if we could somehow bring that Lost Tribe of 6 million Jews (who preyed more than they did?) back to life the first thing that I would ask them is: How did those Prayers work out for you? I think that I know the answer. J. Copeland America Atheists P.S Seventy five people supposedly cured at Lourds, out of ten million is tanatmount to nothing having happened at all.It isn't even a pebble in an avalanche.
