Hot Showers for Free at the YMCA in Randolph, Warming Center Open

BYOB means bring your own bedding to warming center, bring your own towel to WMCA.

BYOB has taken on an entirely new meaning at the Hopatcong Senior Center, which will serve as a warming center again for those screaming uncle from the cold due to power outages.

BYOB means bring your own bedding.

According to Sue Parichuk, Hopatcong Recreation Coordinator, the center has capacity for 50 people who wish to spend the night. She said they have plenty of cots, but residents must bring their own sheets, blankets and pillows.

"We have hot coffee, tea, television and cots, and a place to charge cell phones and laptops," said Parichuk.

The YMCA, located at 14 Dover-Chester Road in Randolph, is offering free showers to residents with a photo identification. The YMCA will be open until 10 p.m. tonight and reopen at 5:30 a.m. 

Bonnie Synder, director of membership, said residents should bring their own towels, shampoo, and soap. She said there are some hand-held hair dryers in the women's locker rooms. For more information, call: 973-366-1120. Web site: http://www.wmaymca.com
