Hopatcong Rapper Offers Music for $1

Ali Elgazzar, known as "The Butcher," released "Amateur Night" mixtape Wednesday.

Hopatcong's Ali Elgazzar has been rapping since childhood.

But the aspiring hip-hop artist took his biggest step yet toward connecting his rhymes with a larger audience when he began handing out his free "Amateur Night" mixtape on Monday.

And if the idea of a 24-track CD filled with clean raps over beats familiar to top-40 radio fans and hip-hop heads wasn't enough, Elgazzar, 18, added more incentive: he's asking for just a $1 donation.

Elgazzar, whose stage name "The Butcher" is a translation of his last name in Arabic, posted many of the songs from "Amateur Night" on Youtube throughout Monday.
