Military Family Receives New Car During Second Annual Golf Classic Hosted by Enterprise Holdings

Wayne, NJ July 1 2014- On Monday June 23rd, the New Jersey regional operations team of Enterprise Holdings, the corporate parent of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, hosted the Second Annual Golf Classic, benefitting Operation Homefront, an organization dedicated to providing emergency, financial and other assistance to military families.

During the Golf Classic at the Picatinny Golf Course in Picatinny, New Jersey, SSG Jason Ragel of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey, was the recipient of a mini-van, to help him continue his mentorship and volunteer activities for other wounded military.  

“We are honored to help provide SSG Jason Ragel with a vehicle to support his endeavors as a peer mentor for fellow wounded warriors and volunteer for the Birdies For The Brave program-a military outreach initiative supported by the PGA Tour,” said John Mattone, regional vice president of Enterprise Holdings in New Jersey. “We appreciate his courage and his dedication to his country.

During the Second Annual Golf Classic, 20 teams drawn from local businesses, competed to win first, second and third place, along with awards for ladies’ & men’s longest drive, closest to the pins and hole-in-one. Team sponsorship and registration fees will benefit Operation Homefront’s efforts to offer food, emergency home repairs, baby items, furniture and other household items, and local moving assistance. 

“On behalf of all Wounded Warriors, I would like to thank Enterprise, Dynasty Auto Body and Geico for the continued support during our transition to recovery. Organizations like these make every day a little easier,” said SSG Ragel. “Words cannot express how thankful we are to not only the organizations and teams, but the individuals that made this all happen. I am truly grateful for the wonderful van, and look forward to assisting others as they follow the path to recovery. “

The mini-van was donated in part from Joe Lacy, Director AD Performance Review for Geico Recycled Rides Program and John Hamden and his team at Dynasty Auto Body in Paterson, New Jersey. PPG also donated the lustrous paint and Keystone Auto/ LkQ CORP donated several parts for the van.
