5 Things: Hopatcong Awaits Clean-Up Day

It's a Monday in Hopatcong, and you know what that means—the borough wakes up. Since you don't want to miss what's happening, let us give you a heads up in 5 Things You Need to Know Today.

  1. You Need to Know About Clean Communities Day: You're going to see this on 5 Things all week. On Saturday, Hopatcong will have a town-wide cleanup from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting at the Department of Public Works. You'll also be able to get rid of electronics for free at the recycling center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents only, ID required.
  2. You Need to Know About Municipal Court: Judge William Bowkley will be presiding at 7:30 p.m. Keep in mind that municipal court in the third week of each month starts at 2 p.m.
  3. You Need to Know About High School Sports: There are no games scheduled Monday. But baseball, softball, golf and tennis will compete on Tuesday.
  4. You Need to Know About Testing: Third-, fourth- and fifth-graders will take NJ Ask tests today while first- and second-graders take Terra Novas.
  5. You Need to Know About the High School's Fundraising Group: The Hopatcong High School Parent Teacher Student Organization will meet at 7 p.m. in the library. The group often holds events to help classes with different fundraisers.
