What's that? It's Tuesday, and you don't know what's happening in Hopatcong? Let Patch help. Check out some essential stuff in 5 Things You Need to Know Today, including a pretty cool concert.

  1. You Need to Know About Religion and Pizza: St. Jude's Parish Deacon Tom Friel will host "Theology Table" at Frank's Pizzeria at 6:30 p.m. on Friel and his group, which invites all religious viewpoints.
  2. UPDATED: You Need to Know About Durban Avenue's Spring Concert … which will happen at on June 9 at the high school auditorium. Head out and see the kids sing their hearts out.
  3. You Need to Know About the Recreation Commission: The group meets at 8 p.m. at borough hall. It's in the process of using open space and recreation funds to fix a drainage problem at Veterans Field, essentially flipping the softball diamond among other repairs.
  4. You Need to Know About High School Sports: The Chiefs have a full slate of games today. Baseball heads to James Caldwell High School while golf takes on Mount Olive, softball hosts Parsippany and tennis treks to rival Lenape Valley.
  5. You Need to Know About Clean Communities Day: You're going to see this on 5 Things all week. On Saturday, Hopatcong will have a town-wide cleanup from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting at the Department of Public Works. You'll also be able to get rid of electronics for free at the recycling center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents only, ID required.
