Hello, Thursday. Though you're Friday's slightly less popular sister, we're glad to see you. Mostly because you mean we're closer to the weekend. And with that within reach, here are 5 Things You Need to Know Today.

  1. You Need to Know About Helping St. Jude's: The parish is looking for a landscaper. Call Mike Job at (973) 770-6536 if you're interested in donating your time.
  2. You Need to Know About the Half Day: Hopatcong superintendent Dr. Charles Maranzano said it'll be too hot today for a full day of school. Click here to read more.
  3. You Need to Know About Protecting Your Neck: Gen Lee teaches Ju-Jitsu each Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. Students learn how to fall safely, kick, strike and guard. Classes cost $10. Proceeds go to St. Jude's.
  4. You Need to Know About Summer Rec: Sign ups will be on June 11, 18 and 25 at the Hopatcong Senior Citizens Center from 9 a.m. to noon.
  5. You Need to Know About the Democratic Club Meeting: They'll meet at the Hopatcong Senior Citizens Center at 7 p.m. No Democrats ran in Tuesday's primary election.
