5 Things You Need to Know This Week

A look ahead at the week in Hopatcong.

Hello, workweek. Now, go away.

OK, OK. We understand, you're here to stay. But after a mostly wet weekend filled with cold temperatures, not much is supposed to change on the weather front. We'll get through it, and we'll find ways to enjoy it—but we'd like the workweek to go as fast as possible.

But, first, let's take a look at what's happening each day this week in Hopatcong.

  1. You Need to Know About Monday: Municipal court begins at 6 p.m. at borough hall while community dispute starts at 6:30 p.m. Also: the Hopatcong Elementary Parent Teacher Organizaion will meet at 7 p.m. at Hudson Maxim school.
  2. You Need to Know About Tuesday: Hopatcong High School seniors will have to take the math portion of the High School Proficiency Assessment on Tuesday. The planning board will meet at 7 p.m. at borough hall. And at 8 p.m., the Hopatcong Woman's Club will host a wine-tasting event at Pavinci's. It will fund two scholarships for high school seniors and an woman's career development award.
  3. You Need to Know About Wednesday: Speaking of the Woman's Club, it will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Also, the council will meet at 7:30 p.m. at borough hall. And the recycling center will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.
  4. You Need to Know About Thursday: Football! The 3-1 Hopatcong High School team will take on Pequannock at home at 7 p.m. If you're going, wear white. The team hopes fans will show up and white out the place. And Seniors Inc.—a borough seniors group—will meet at 1 p.m. at St. Jude's.
  5. You Need to Know About Friday: Yom Kippur begins at sundown. And the school's first marking period progress reports will be available online.
