5 Ways You Can Help Kyle O'Brien

Hopatcong's Kyle O'Brien, 10, is suffering from an inoperable benign brain tumor.

Next week the fourth-grader and his family will travel the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, one of just three places in he nation that can help him.There he will receive proton radiation, which delivers high doses of radiation to his brain stem, for six to eight weeks. His parents, Jennifer and Patrick, will take leave from their jobs to be with Kyle during the treatment.

Here are 5 Ways You Can Help Kyle.

  1. You Can Sign "Kyle's Official Get Well Card" Cost: $25 to sign. The card will be at Durban Avenue School on Friday. On Saturday, it will be at Lakeside Barber in Landing. On Monday and Tuesday, it will be at the Martial Arts Academy in Landing. On Wednesday, it will be at Little Angles Daycare in Hopatcong. On Thursday, it will be at West Morris Dental in Roxbury.
  2. You Can Attend On Sunday, the U-9 NJ Dynamo Thunder, which has been collecting donations, will play a game in Kyle's honor at 272 Emmans Road in Flanders at noon. Joey Spivack, a pro soccer player with Guiseley A.F.C. England, will sign autographs. Donations for the event can also be made at RE/MAX House Values at 181 East Howard Blvd. in Mount Arlington.   3. You Can Next Thursday, there will be a dunk tank in Modick Park. For a certain amount of money, you can try to dunk a member of Hopatcong band Goodbye Friday.
  4. You CanSame premise as above. Except this time you can dunk a Hopatcong police officer.
  5. You Can Drink Wine Pavinci's will host a wine-tasting benefit on Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. Suggested donation: $10.
