Borough Residents Shine in Lake Hopatcong Fishing Contest

Jim Archambault and Jim Salerno finish in top five of Saturday's event. Each won prizes.

Two out of five ain't bad.

Maybe that's not how Meat Loaf put it, but that's how Hopatcong residents Jim Archambault and Jim Salerno might feel after Saturday's Lake Hopatcong fishing contest.

Archambault and Salerno took third and fifth, respectively, at the Knee Deep Club's competition, which drew 57 anglers. First-, second- and third-place winners shared a $912 prize pool. The club collected 20 percent—or $228—of entry fees ($1,140) and put it toward its stocking fund.
