Cops: Woman, 21, Overdosed on Heroin

The following arrest information was supplied by the Hopatcong police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 21-year-old Hopatcong woman overdosed on heroin in her home Friday, said.

Sgt. Joseph Magrini and Officer Gerald Mancuso responded to Lakeland Trail on a report of an overdose, police said. When they arrived they found Amanda Rossy on the floor in her bedroom, police said.

A hypodermic syringe was lying on her bed, police said.

Rossy, lethargic and unable to walk, admitted to ambulance squad members she was under the influence of one and a half bags of heroin, police said.

Rossy was taken to a nearby hospital, police said. She was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic needle and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

Rossy will be processed when she leaves the hospital, police said.
