The Hopatcong Board of Education will meet for the first time since Hurricane Sandy on Monday at 7:30 p.m. We'll keep you posted about what was discussed at the latest meeting.

Sparta Holds Annual Turkey Trot

The Sparta Education Foundation will host its 6th annual Turkey Trot on the morning of Thanksgiving. The "trot" will include a 5K and a 1-mile fun run in Lake Mohawk that will raise money for Sparta schools.

Schools Closed For Thanksgiving

All Hopatcong and Sparta schools will have an early dismissal on Wednesday and will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

'Dine Out' to Benefit Sparta Schools

The Sparta Education Foundation partnered with the new phone application Trellis to raise money for township schools. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be two "dine out" dates for residents to order meals from local restaurants through the application, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to the district.

New Bagel Cafe Opens in Hopatcong
