Hopatcong, Follow These Twitter Users

Want to keep up with news even faster? Make sure you follow these accounts.

So maybe you've heard of this thing called Twitter.

It's this social-networking website that helps you interact with just about anybody, from your college pals to A-list celebrities, by shooting them a message with a 140-character limit.

Twitter is also a great place to keep up with Hopatcong figures and news. So, here's who borough Twitter users should follow.

Find out what's happening in Hopatcong-Spartawith free, real-time updates from Patch.

  • @JMartJr—Hopatcong football star and former Rutgers running back Joe Martinek often chronicles his sports experiences and life in the borough.
  • @JoeHewitt—Hewitt, a Hopatcong High School graduate, easily has the most followers out of anybody from the borough. Hewitt, a software engineer, has held some pretty high-profile tech jobs. But he's best-known for helping create Mozilla Firefox.
  • @SussexNJ—The county updates a lot with news releases and other bits of information, such as road closures or weather warnings.
  • @HopatcongPatch—You saw this coming.
  • @NJHerald—For Sussex County news, and whatever Hopatcong stuff we (rarely) miss.
  • @Daily_Record—For Morris County news, though the newspaper has slowed its Hopatcong coverage considerably since the turn of the century.
  • @JeffersonPatch—For your news from your friends across the lake.
  • @njheadlines—For state news, though you might not find a ton of borough information.
  • @NJ_Weather—For more detailed weather alerts. These guys update often when a storm rolls through.
