Hopatcong Scouts Want You!

It's Monday, and that means back to the grind.

It also means another installment of 5 Things You Need to Know Today.

1. You Need to Know About Spring Recruitment: Cub Scout Packs 194 and 88 will host a recruitment night at the Hopatcong Senior Citizens Center on May 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m for boys entering first- through fifth-grades. Learn more at hopatcongpack194.org.
2. You Need to Know About Court: Hopatcong's municipal court meets at 7:30 p.m. at borough hall. Next week it starts at 2:30 p.m.
3. You Need to Know About High School Sports: Before we get into scheduling, know Hopatcong's baseball team is playing great and that it will take on rival Lenape Valley on Tuesday. Back to Monday: Tennis participates in the Hunterdon Warren Sussex Tournament. Baseball heads to Mount Olive.
4. You Need to Know About the Budget: On Wednesday, there will be a joint special meeting between Hopatcong's council and the Board of Education at 6 p.m. at borough hall. The topic: the defeated school budget proposal.
5. You Need to Know About the Spring Concert: Hudson Maxim School's spring concert for first-graders starts at 7 p.m.
