How to Stay Healthy

Sussex County offers six-week course on putting "life" back into "living."

Do you have long-term health issues? Are you somebody's caregiver?

The Sussex County Department of Human Services Division of Seniors Services wants to help. Here are five things you need to know about an upcoming course that could have you or your loved ones living pain-free.

  1. You Need to Know What You'll Learn: How to alleviate pain and fatigue, deal with emotions, develop healthy eating and safe exercising habits, communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and basically, "get more out of life," the county said.
  2. You Need to Know What Else You'll Get: A free manual called "Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Conditions."
  3. You Need to Know When it Starts: It will be offered from Sept. 21 to Oct. 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.and from Sept. 23 to Oct. 28 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Sussex County Community College.
  4. You Need to Know What It Costs: The course, titled "Take Control of Your Health," is free. But registration is limited.
