The Hopatcong Police department’s newest member, a K9 named Eli, will finish his training in June and be ready for the squad. The department, however, has exhausted the donations and fund set aside for Eli’s needs and is seeking some assistance from the public.

The Sparta Board of Education approved a measure that allows a junior to participate in the school’s closing ceremonies since she has completed all 120 credits necessary to receive a diploma.

Police arrived at a Geneva Trail home to find a car crashed into it and was parked on the lawn. The driver came back to the scene after leaving, only to be found under the influence and arrested for his actions, cops said.

$350K OK’d for Mohawk Lake Water Line Repairs

Among other capital projects, a water line infrastructure project was supported by the Sparta Township Council to get the go ahead to the tune of $350,000 in 2013.
