Prosecutor: Man Found Killed Inside His Roxbury Diner

Victim's wife discovered body Saturday evening inside Route 46 eatery.

The death of a Roxbury diner owner whose body was found inside his Route 46 establishment Saturday evening is being treated as a homicide, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said Sunday.

Chafic “Steve” Ezzeddine, 71, was found dead inside the Kenvil Diner Saturday night at about 6:30 p.m. His wife discovered the body after she became concerned when her husband hadn't yet returned home from work. Ezzeddine usually closed the diner on Saturdays at 2 p.m., Morris County Prosecutor Robert A. Bianchi said at a news conference Sunday afternoon in Roxbury.

“When [Ezzeddine] did not return home at a time that she felt was appropriate, she went to the diner and found her husband in a lifeless condition,” Bianchi said.
