'Snowball' Fight to Benefit Hopatcong Girl

And families in need.

Mother Nature has mostly spared Hopatcong from snow in recent months—a pre-Halloween snowstorm notwithstanding. But that won't stop a bunch of kids from heading out for a snowball fight soon.

Sort of.

Hopatcong Cub Scout Pack 194 will host a snowball fight at the from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Except the socks will replace the frozen white stuff.

Admission costs $5 and a new pair of socks, which, at the end of the event, will be cleaned and donated to families in need. Proceeds will go to Erinn's Blue Rainbow fund, which benefits 6-year-old Hopatcong resident Erinn Yori, who suffers from bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and sensory processing disorder.

All ages are invited, said event organizer and Erinn's mother, Nicole.

"It will be a fun thing to do," Nicole Yori said. "And it will get the kids off the couches during their winter break."

A limited amount of socks will be available for $2. Water will be available for $1.
