Sandy Make-Up Days Decided in Sparta

The Sparta BOE will meet Monday night and vote on how to make up the lost school days from Hurricane Sandy. The meeting will be held at the Mohawk Avenue School at 7 p.m.

Pavinci's Hosts Benefit to Help Sandy Victims

Pavinci's Italian Grill will be hosting Hurricane Sandy: We Hit Harder to benefit three families of Hopatcong whose homes were destroyed from Superstorm Sandy. The event will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and will include give-aways, raffles, live and silent auctions, a Sweet Sandy Dessert Contest, and more.

Sparta Council Meets Tuesday

The Sparta Township Council will have their next meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Sparta Township Municipal Building. We'll keep you posted about what was discussed at the meeting.

New Bagel Cafe Gears Up For Grand Opening in Hopatcong

Spartans Face River Dell in State Semifinals

The Sparta High School football team will face River Dell High School on Friday night for state semifinals. The Spartans, now 8-1, defeated Mahwah High School on Nov. 16 in quarterfinals.

Hopatcong Holds Clothing Drive For Project Graduation

The high school will be accepting clothing for men, women and children, shoes, accesories and games for a clothing drive on Saturday. All proceeds will go to the Hopatcong High School Project Graduation. The items can be dropped off at the Lowe's parkling lot in Mount Olive on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
