Trout Fishing Battle Heads to Lake Hopatcong

Anglers hope to catch biggest of the lake's 11,000 trout.

The following is from the Knee Deep Club.

Sunday May 20, 2012 the Knee Deep Club will hold its Trout fishing contest on Lake Hopatcong. The contest will begin at 5:00 AM and conclude at 4:00 PM. The entry fee is $20.00 for Knee Deep Club members and $25.00 ($20.00 entry + $5.00 insurance) for non-members. A payout of 80% of entry fees will go to the anglers weighing in the three heaviest fish. Entry forms are available on line at; www.kneedeepclub.org, or at the Clubs official weigh stations: Dow’s Boat Rental, Nolan’s Point, Lake Hopatcong and Lake’s End Marina, Lakeside Blvd., Landing. Mail in entries must be received by Friday, May 18, 2012, in person entries can be made until 8:00AM Sunday, May 20, 2012. The Knee Deep club will stock more then 1800 13 – 20 inch trout before the contest date, one of these quality fish could be your winning trout!  Please see contest entry form for complete contest rules.   • The all time record Trout are: Rainbow – 6 lb. 4 oz., Brook – 5 lb. 1 oz., and Brown – 9 lb. 4 oz..
