Walleye Contest Coming to Lake Hopatcong

Knee Deep Club-sponsored event to pay 80 percent of entry fees to winners.

Will you still be itchin' for some fishin' come mid-September? The Knee Deep Club can help.

The club, a collection of people dedicated to Lake Hopatcong, will host a walleye contest on Sept. 17 at 5 a.m. and finish the next day at noon. Entry fee costs $20 for club members and $25 for non-members—taking into account an insurance fee.

Eighty percent of the entry fees will go to anglers weighing in the three heaviest walleye. The rest will go toward the club's lake stocking fund.
