Tree house A Hopatcong family returned to its home Monday to find trees had smashed into their home.

Extended break Hopatcong schools were closed Monday through Thursday as power companies worked to restore power to the district's buildings. At one point, Superintendent Dr. Charles Maranzano said he thought schools could be out all week. Then they returned Friday, with the exception of Durban Avenue, due to a hanging transformer.
