TEACHERS CONTRACT The Hopatcong school district and its teachers union struck a tentative contract with the help of a state-appointed mediator near midnight Monday. Leaders from each side called the deal, which is expected to be finalized in weeks, fair. Click here for more.

TEACHER OF THE YEAR Joanne Canizaro is no stranger to recognition. Radio station WDHA-FM named the 10-year teacher a Teacher Who Rocks in 2010. And she was given a Governor's Teacher Recognition Award last year. But she was hit with a surprise recently. Click for more.
