What You Need to Know About Hopatcong This Week

5 important facts about the borough, including a school board meeting's new date and more.

Get ready for another busy week in the Hopatcong.

Forecasts are calling for rain most of the week. Your regularly-scheduled Board of Education meeting won't be on its regular schedule. And municipal court starts early this week.

Here are five things you need to know this week.

  1. You Need to Know About the School Board: It'll meet on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at the instead of Monday. Some BOE members will be attending the New Jersey School Boards Association Annual Conference from Monday through Wednesday.
  2. You Need to Know About Municipal Court: The court will meet at 1:30 a.m. Monday at the instead of its usual 6 p.m. The municipal court convenes early the third Monday of each month.
  3. You Need to Know About Pizza and Jesus: Paster Tom Friel will host a dinner discussion on religion at at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Click for more.
  4. You Need to Know About Evening Hours: Hopatcong's municipal building will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. It opens late on the last Thursday each month.
  5. You Need to Know About Important Meetings: The environmental commission and board of health will each meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The environmental commission, which hopes to help the borough earn Sustainable Jersey status, meets at the municipal building. The board of health meets at the health building.
  6. BONUS: The Hopatcong High School football team has been on a tear this season. The 5-2 Chiefs will take on Boonton at home on Friday night. The same night, Hopatcong will honor the 10th anniversary of its 2001 championship team.
