Hopatcong Women's Club Helps Pair

Organization doles out education scholarship and sponsors college program for student.

The following is from the Hopatcong Women's Club.

We are presenting our Ruth Gates Scholarship of $500 to Denise Giaccione, a mother of three and graduate of Sussex Community College whose ambition is to get a Bachelor in Social Work from Rutgers University.

Additionally, the Hopatcong Woman’s Club is sponsoring Katherine Callahan, a deserving Hopatcong High School junior, to attend GCI (Girl’s Career Institute) at Douglass College. It is a four-day program, June 11-14, 2012, that offers delegates a "mini college experience." The young women will sample college life by living in a dorm, eating in a cafeteria, attending lectures and participating in workshops. The program’s aim is to acquaint students with college life and allow them to explore possible career opportunities while networking with other delegates from all over the state.
