December openings for Museums at Drakesville Historic Park

Soup Supper and Museum Tours at the Museums at Drakesville Historic Park.  Sample hearth cooking with a variety of soups, cornbread, and other fare at the Silas Riggs House.  Soup supper is $10 for adults, $5 for children.  Tour the King Store and King House Museums.  Admission is free.  Local musician Claire Reynolds will entertain visitors with her musical talents and collection of vintage mechanical toys. Shop at the King Store for small holiday gifts, including cookies, Christmas ornaments, and special commemorative mugs imprinted with a picture of the King Store and King House c 1905.  Museums will also be open from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, December 8th.  Claire and her toys will greet visitors to the King House and tours of the Museums at Drakesville Park will be conducted throughout the afternoon.  Admission is free.
